Call for Nominations: Plone Foundation Board of Directors 2024-2026
Please consider nominating yourself to serve on the Plone Foundation's Board of Directors.

If you are interested in contributing to the governance of Plone and have the time and energy to actively participate, we invite you to consider nominating yourself for a seat on the Plone Foundation Board of Directors for the 2024-2026 term.

Nomination Process

  1. Visit the Plone website and log in: Plone.org/login
  2. Navigate to the nomination page: Nomination Page
  3. Create a Board Nomination with your name as the title.
  4. In the summary, write a two-sentence introduction about yourself.
  5. Upload an 200px / 200px image as Lead Image
  6. In the body of the page, please include the following information:
    1. Your identity
    2. Your reasons for interest in the board position
    3. The unique contributions you believe you can make to the Plone Foundation
    4. The name(s) of one or more active Plone Foundation members who endorse your nomination
  7. Once completed, select "Submit" from the workflow drop-down menu for review.

Election Process

The election will fill Board 4 seats for two-year terms

All active members of the Plone Foundation as of November 27, 2024, 13:00 UTC, are eligible to vote. The election will be conducted online from November 27, 14:00 UTC, to November 28, 2024, until 13:00 UTC.

Results will be announced at the annual meeting during the Plone Conference 2024 in Brasilia, Brazil.

About Board Membership

The Plone Foundation is a not-for-profit, public-benefit organization with the mission to "promote and protect Plone." Board responsibilities include:

  • Safeguarding trademarks, copyrights, and other intellectual property
  • Hiring the release manager
  • Collaborating with other communities such as Zope, Guillotina, and Pyramid
  • Working with various committees, including marketing and membership
  • Addressing other community-related matters as needed

Please note that the board does not direct Plone development but facilitates it.

Board meetings typically last 60 to 90 minutes and are held every two weeks via video conference. The timing of these meetings has historically been during daytime hours in America and evening hours in Europe. Active participation is crucial for the board's effectiveness.

  • Foundation membership is not a prerequisite for board service.
