Announcing World Plone Day 2013

The Plone community will hold the sixth edition of World Plone Day (WPD) on April 24, 2013.

WPD is a day of events held around the globe to spread awareness of Plone, a free and open source Internet publishing system that combines web content management, social software, collaboration and enterprise portal features.

The World Plone Day (WPD) is organized by global Plone community to promote the benefits of using Plone. Indeed, WPD is much more than a single event, is a series of events held by companies, organizations, user groups and individuals. In five previous editions of the WPD more than 170 events were held in 36 countries around the world.

This year we will have more seminars, training sessions, and meet-up groups to help spread global awareness of Plone. Since Plone is an open source project, it relies on its community. Enthusiasts are encouraged to show up in full force to ensure Plone continues to grow.

If you are interested in hosting, sponsoring or organizing a event, please get in touch with WPD team or just add your city in 2013 host page on Plone.org.

In the next few days we will release materials, presentations templates, tips and ideas for events organizers. Stay tuned to the Plone.org WPD section: http://www.plone.org/wpd and WPD twitter account: @worldploneday for more information.
