2011 Plone Conference Now Accepting Talk Submissions

The Plone Conference organizers are pleased to announce that submissions are now being accepted from the community for talks at the 2011 Plone Conference in San Francisco.

More information on talks and how to submit them can be found on the official conference website at http://ploneconf.org/event/talks.

Those interested in submitting talks are encouraged to take a moment to review the community feedback, solicited earlier, where the community was asked to suggest and vote on topics they were interested in hearing at the conference.  These votes and suggestions will be taken into consideration when deciding the talks schedule.  The community’s feedback can be found here: http://j.mp/rqWAMN

The annual Plone Conference is an opportunity for the world-wide Plone community to come together, build connections, and learn about the current state and future direction of Plone.  It also serves as the venue for the annual election of the Plone Foundation Board of Directors.  The San Francisco-based organizers are honored to have been chosen by the Plone Foundation to host the Conference in this wonderful city.

Plone is a powerful, flexible Open Source Content Management Solution that is easy to install, use and extend. It lets non-technical people create and maintain information for a public website or an intranet using only a web browser.  Plone leverages the power of the Zope application server and the flexibility and popularity of the Python programming language to deliver an enterprise-class, extensible, and secure content management system for individuals and organizations of all sizes.

The Plone Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization formed in May 2004 to serve as a supporting organization for Plone and its community. It provides support for the development and marketing, and is modeled after similar ventures such as the Apache Software Foundation. It is the legal owner of the Plone codebase, trademarks, and domain names. Its goal is to ensure that Plone remains the premier open source content management system and broaden its acceptance and visibility.
