Sauna Sprint just around the corner
The Plone Sauna Sprint 2010 is about to start. We still have some places left for Plonistas to join us for a crazy hacking week in Helsinki!
Sprint topics
We added several new topics in the last week including Plone 4, documentation, translations, and Remember as well as the original list of:
Google Summer of Code
Two students coming to the sprint are currently working on projects under the auspices of Google's Summer of Code programme. These summer-long projects are intended to expose students to the world of open source development, you are encouraged to join us and help them reach their goal!
- Nenad Mancevic, working on AJAXifying PloneFormGen
- Domen Kožar, working on generating Gentoo ebuilds from the Python Package Index
Free accommodation
Students along with organizers will be sleeping at the sprint venue on army bunks. We still have some beds free that are now available free of charge to any Plonistas that don't mind sleeping in a shared dormitory setting. The venue also provides a kitchen area for those on a strict budget.
Sauna
It's unusually hot in Helsinki at the moment, above 30 degrees Celsius, however that won't prevent the sprint venue's sauna being available every day. It is open until 3am and is, of course, free of charge to sprint participants.
Funding
The minimum funding needed for the sprint has now been covered, many thanks to our generous sponsors:
However, we still need just a few more euros to cover niceties such as sprint T-Shirts. Keep in mind that apart from travel costs, we cover all expenses for the 16 students attending, including accommodation, food, etc.
Help us go the extra mile by chipping in a few bucks!
