DO YOU KNOW of a deserving non-profit who could benefit from a free Plone website? Then encourage them to apply at http://immersive-training.net/ by this Friday, May 15th.
Three non-profit organizations have already entered the contest:
NEST is a nonprofit organization dedicated to changing the lives of women in developing countries.
THE INDY FOOD CO-OP will open a member-owned, non-profit natural foods grocery store downtown Indianapolis to make healthy food available to lower income residents.
HOUSE OF THE ROSES is a non-profit, volunteer organization that offers homeless and at-risk children free weekly on-site dance workshops.
You can learn more about them at: http://immersive-training.net/non-profits/
Voting by the online community will start shortly after May 15th, and continue until June 5th. A winner will be announced on June 15th, 2009.
The chosen non-profit will be asked to provide a final design, domain name, and copy for the site content. They will work with Six Feet Up to develop their requirements for a website. The non-profit will then work with top content management professionals to bring the site to life during the Plone Immersive Training Experience in September.
The non-profit website will be based on the Plone open source content management system and will include features such as an event calendar, a slideshow, a news section, embedded video files, a staff/people directory, and more.
