Unai Etxaburu, Ana Luisa Lopes Ferreira, Lur Ibargutxi, David Ichim, Alok Kumar, Ion Lizarazu, Wesley Barroso Lopes, Julio Zinga Suzuki Lopes, Ramiro Batista da Luz, Silvio Carlos Marino, Dante Álvares Pérez, Luis Flavio Loreto da Rocha, Clayton Caetano de Sousa, and Rohan Shaw join the Plone Foundation

Plone Foundation Welcomes New Members for 2025

The Plone Foundation welcomes new members after confirmation by the Foundation's Board of Directors on October 2, 2025.

Membership in the Foundation is conferred for significant and enduring contributions to the Plone project and community. The Plone Foundation Membership Committee recommended each applicant for their ongoing contributions to Plone.

Unai Etxaburu

Unai was a co-organizer of the 2023 Plone Conference in Eibar and has contributed to over 10 packages in the Plone ecosystem. Through his work at CodeSyntax, Unai has helped to develop critical add-ons such as volto-cookiebot, volto-menu-customization, volto-social-sharing, volto-listingadvanced-variation, and volto-menu-customization.

Unai works at Code Syntax, Basque Country.

Ana Luisa Lopes Ferreira

Ana is a graphic designer who has been actively collaborating with the Plone community since 2022, most notably through PloneGov-Br. Ana was responsible for the entire visual identity of the Plone Conference 2024 in Brasilia. In addition, Ana developed the visual identity of PortalBrasil and contributed to the design of Plone 6, strengthening both the visual communication and institutional presence of the Plone community.

Ana is from the Federal District of Brazil.

Lur Ibargutxi

Lur has been a Plone developer since 2007 and has participated in almost every Plone Conference since 2007. Lur was a co-organizer of the Plone Conference 2023 in Eibar, has helped to organize several editions of World Plone Day in Basque Country, and has contributed to many packages for CodeSyntax clients.

Lur works at Code Syntax, Basque Country.

David Ichim

David has been a Plone developer since 2009 and a web developer for more than 20 years. David is a member of the Volto Core team and Volto Accessibility team working alongside others to improve Volto.

David works at Eau de Web, Romania.

Alok Kumar

Alok joined the Plone community in 2019 as a Google Summer of Code student. Since then, he has become a regular at Plone Conferences, most notably as a trainer and presenter. Alok is the author of gatsby-theme-plone as well as a core contributor to Volto. He has also served as organizer of World Plone Day in India.

Alok resides in Bihar, India.

Ion Lizarazu

Ion was a co-organizer of the 2023 Plone Conference in Eibar. Ion has attended the Beethoven sprint for multiple years and continues to make key contributions to Volto.

Ion works at Code Syntax, Basque Country.

Wesley Barroso Lopes

Wesley has been working with Plone since 2006 and develops technological solutions that enable the strategic actions of the Brazilian State. In addition to developing portals for gov.br, he has contributed to Plone, Volto, Collective, and IDG. Wesley was a speaker at Plone Conferene 2024 and has been an instructor for several internal Plone training sessions.

Wesley resides in Minas Gerais, Brazil.

Julio Zinga Suzuki Lopes

Julio has been a Plone developer since 2009, beginning with the implementation of the IFPB portal, a project that solidified Plone as a robust solution for the largest professional education network in Latin America. Julio has also dedicated himself to community outreach and growth, such as organizing Plone Day in Paraíba and presenting at 2023 Plone Symposium South America in Brasília. Julio joined the Plone Marketing Team in 2025, demonstrating his continuous commitment and passion for Plone.

Julio is located in Paraíba, Brazil.

Ramiro Batista da Luz

Ramiro serves as the Plone Ambassador for Brazil. He is the founder of Python Paraná, co-founder of Paraná Coding Dojo Group, and a member of the Python Brazil Association. He has contributed to nearly 20 Plone packages, attended many Plone Conferences, and assists with the development of PloneGov-Br.

Ramiro is from Paraná, Brazil.

Silvio Carlos Marino

Silvio has been working with Plone since 2013. Some of the add-ons Silvio has developed include high contrast black/white displays, an image carousel, an image slider, a video gallery integrated with YouTube, audio playback, and integration with relational databases and chart.js, among others. Silvio is an expert at migrations, upgrading nearly 400 websites from older versions of Plone. Silvio has trained hundreds of managers to perform common content maintenance tasks, ensuring accessibility requirements are met.

Silvio is located in São Paulo, Brazil.

Dante Álvarez Pérez

Dante is part of the core team behind the Volto Light Theme. He was the main organizer for the Axolote Sprints in 2024 and 2025 in CDMX. Dante also developed the "Customizing Volto Light Theme" training for the Plone Conference 2024 in Brasilia.

Dante works for kitconcept and resides in Mexico.

Luis Flavio Loreto da Rocha

Luis began his Plone journey in 2006 as a consultant specializing in Plone-based solutions for key federal government agencies in Brazil. Since 2008, Luis has been part of the Empresa Brasil de Comunicação – EBC, the public broadcasting company of the Brazilian federal government. Over this period, Luis has played a leading role in the design, development, and maintenance of more than 60 Plone-based portals such as Agência Gov, Canal Gov, and Rádio Gov.

Luis is from the Federal District of Brazil.

Clayton Caetano de Sousa

Clayton has been a Plone developer since 2005 and has attended many Plone Conferences, sprints, symposia, and World Plone Days. He has contributed to nearly 20 Plone packages and was instrumental in the development of add-ons for brazil.gov. Clayton often responds to open issues for Volto and Plone.

Clayton lives in Brasília, Brazil.

Rohan Shaw

Rohan has made substantial contributions to multiple core repositories across the Plone ecosystem, focusing on both feature development and system stability improvements. Rohan added Volto Control Panel support for plone.app.discussion and is leading the implementation of a comprehensive "Recycle Bin feature" for Plone. Rohan’s work has been instrumental in enhancing content management workflows, security implementation, and API development.

Rohan is from West Bengal, India.
