After the official release of Plone 6.0, organisations, developers and integrators had a very productive year using the Plone platform for building websites, intranets and web applications. The results showed at this year's Plone Conference 2023, held from October 2-8 in beautiful Eibar in Basque Country.
In the Coliseo theatre and in and round the city centre from early morning until late evening for the whole week, more than 150 participants shared their work, pet projects, extentions, and future ideas for Plone.
Training
On Monday and Tuesday, experienced community members gave training sessions on all aspects of the Plone Content Management Platform, from content editing to theming, extending the new Blocks based in installing and deploying a full production-ready installation using container technology/Docker. The training space was provided by the Basque Summer University in a beautiful Renaissance noble house in the city centre.
Conference highlights
On Wednesday, three days of of talks, presentations, discussions, and socialising started in the largest theatre in Eibar, the Coliseo, with a warm welcome by the Mayor of Eibar and representatives of commerce and innovation for the local region and Basque country. Sprint
The Conference was not completely over yet though. Dozens of attendees sprinted on Saturday and Sunday October 7 and 8. They met again at the Summer University location in Eibar as well as remotely, working on features for Plone 6.1 / 6.2, improving documentation, and creating new Plone distributions.
