I am a junior web developer with Juizi CC based in Cape Town South Africa. I have been working in Plone since 2024.
Why I am interested in joining the Plone board
I believe the role of the board is to safeguard Plone and serve the Plone community. I wish to not only contribute to that but also to assist in spreading Plone further into the Global South - particularly in Africa.
How I have contributed to Plone
During my time in the Plone community I have been priviliged to be mentored by and interact with incredible people form all over the world which has led me to wanting to further the spread of Plone in my home country South Afirca. To that effect I have connected with student developer societies in South Africa at multiple major universities to introduce young developers to Plone.
- I have been a speaker at Plone Conf 2025 (Finland) and Plone Conf 2026 (Netherlands).
- I have assisted in the planning and running of the Stellenbosch Sprint (2026).
- I have connected with the Stellenbosch University Developer Society where we hosted a Plone Talk (2026) and where we plan on hosting many more.
- I have contributed to World Plone day both in 2025 and 2026.
- I have attended the Plone Conf 2025 Sprint and plan on attending the Plone Conf 2026 Sprint.
- I also regularly attend Plone Tune Up days.
