The 2024 Plone Conference was another big success, exceeding expectations in many areas and strengthening our Plonista community. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive. Attendees praised the quality of training, keynotes, and the overall conference atmosphere, highlighting the exceptional value provided.
- Training: In-person training sessions received consistently high marks (average 4.5 out of 5), indicating highly effective and relevant content. Online training was logistically challenging, highlighting the need for continued investment in accessible virtual learning.
- Keynotes and talks: These also scored impressively well (average 4.4 out of 5), suggesting engaging and informative presentations. We had a great speaker lineup and the overall conference appeal was excellent.
- Community: The in-person experience shone through in the comments, with many emphasizing the strong sense of community and the value of networking opportunities.

Suggestions to make it even better
Even a highly successful conference can be improved. Key areas include:
- Scheduling: Several attendees mentioned the importance of punctuality and sufficient breaks between sessions. Improved scheduling can enhance the overall experience.
- Online Integration: Although online participation was successful, further improvements to integrate online and in-person participants could enhance the shared experience and interaction.
- Catering: Feedback on catering was mixed, with some expressing high satisfaction and others noting areas for improvement. There were requests to reinstate the traditional conference party as a key networking opportunity. And a suggestion to provide “unlimited coffee in big jugs throughout the day.”
- Explore options for recording training sessions to make them more accessible.
