Plone welcomes five students for the 2017 Google Summer of Code

We welcome these promising students exemplifying great diversity in geography and topics, and wish them a great Summer of Code!

For 2017, the Plone Foundation has been granted five Google Summer of Code student project slots.

Google Summer of Code is a global program focused on bringing more student developers into open source software development. Students work with an open source organization on a 3 month programming project during their break from school.

After careful selection of the many project proposals presented, we are pleased to announce that the following students will be working on various aspects of Plone:

  • Shriyansh Agrawal (content import and export)
  • Oshane Bailey (theme editor improvements)
  • Mikko Hursti (Mosaic listing customization improvements)
  • K C Pavithira Reddy (plone.org improvements)
  • Noel Varghese (Plone progressive web application / JavaScript client)

You can read the in-depth descriptions of their projects

To our new students: welcome to the Plone community!

To our project mentors: thank you for stepping up and sharing your knowledge!

We hope your summer will be both fun and productive, and we look forward to your contributions – congratulations!
