La Jornada uses Plone to cover the Mexican elections
La Jornada, one of the main Mexican newspapers, has successfully tested Plone on a site created to cover the Mexican elections.
The site http://elecciones.jornada.com.mx was implemented in just one week and it incorporates functionalities like LiveSearch, news classification, auto summaries (using Haystack) and content syndication.
Hardware used is a Pentium 4 @ 2.8GHz with 1.5Gb of memory and it serves news to more than 50,000 visitors a day using CacheFu and Squid.
The development is a collaboration between La Jornada and Open Trends and is going to be released soon under GPL license as part of the update of La Jornada's main site.
