La Jornada uses Plone to cover the Mexican elections

La Jornada, one of the main Mexican newspapers, has successfully tested Plone on a site created to cover the Mexican elections.

The site was implemented in just one week and it incorporates functionalities like LiveSearch, news classification, auto summaries (using Haystack) and content syndication.

Hardware used is a Pentium 4 @ 2.8GHz with 1.5Gb of memory and it serves news to more than 50,000 visitors a day using CacheFu and Squid.

The development is a collaboration between La Jornada and Open Trends and is going to be released soon under GPL license as part of the update of La Jornada's main site.
