Brazilian Government Consolidates Zope/Plone platform
Serpro is the most prominent IT solution provider for the Brazilian Government. Created in the 1960s, SERPRO is responsible for all IT services within the Ministry of Finance and key information systems for the federal government. SERPRO is now using Zope and Plone as their primary portal construction tool for Government Web Content Management Solutions.
SERPRO has deployed four major governmental portals using Zope and Plone technology, including its own official web portal - "www.serpro.gov.br":http://www.serpro.gov.br. The development of the Public Digital Inclusion Portal - "www.idbrasil.gov.br":http://www.idbrasil.gov.br - in relatively short time was made possible by RAD features found on ZOPE/PLONE such as the highly extensible CMF and Plone customization features. Using this technology, SERPRO also developed an intranet portal, "www.portalgoverno.gov.br":http://www.portalgoverno.gov.br which provides a secure and restricted collaboration environment for the Brazilian Public Federal Administration. Zope and Plone are also the tecnologies behind the first government site dedicated to free software initiatives from the Brazilian Government: "www.softwarelivre.gov.br":http://www.softwarelivre.gov.br.
