Meeting called to order at 15:03 UTC
Attendance
Present: Board Members Erico Andrei, William Fennie, Jens Klein, T. Kim Nguyen, Kim Paulissen, Martin Peeters, and Paul Roeland
Foundation members present at Eibar or online from around the world
Welcome
President Erico Andrei welcomed everyone to the meeting and explained how Foundation members could participate. He reminded everyone that the Plone Foundation Board's role is to assist the community; it does not manage any of the teams or their activity.
Review of recent activity
Thanks to Katya and all the others working on Plone documentation. Writing code can be difficult, writing documentation is really, really hard.
Paul Roeland coordinated a revision of the By-Laws of the Plone Foundation to make their language inclusive and to update the rules for electing Board members.
Membership Committee - headed this year by Victor Fernandez de Alba and T.Kim Nguyen - reviewed a number of new Foundation members. The committee reviews applications and forwards recommendations to the Board which gives final approval.
We now have 100 members in 21 countries. Emeritus members please get in touch to be reinstated
Steering Circle was reorganized this year - many thanks to Eric Steele for his leadership.
New contributor agreement - Paul Roeland worked on several iterations of a digitized agreement system. We now have a semi-digitized version that will work on a smartphone and is much easier for back-end processing.
Google Summer of Code - we had a very good year with five student-mentor teams. Thanks to Eric Bréhault and all the mentors and students - also Google, of course. Visa regulations in EU countries made it impossible to bring all the students to this conference - we're working on work-arounds.
Sprints
There were major sprints in February and May (Alpine City and Beethoven, respectively) as well as Community sprints that included Tune-ups, Plone.org sprints, the Plone midsummer sprint, the Cerrado sprint, and aRtsPRiNt.
Martin Peeters gave a brief report of Marketing Team activities. Rikupekka Oksanen is the team lead. Among many activities the marketing team organized World Plone Day, which included a live Board meeting, and assisted with organization of the Plone conference. Thank you to all members of the crucial team.
If you have an event planned, get in touch with the marketing team not just for promotion but also to get support.
Sponsorship - was a big focus this year. T.Kim Nguyen thanked all of the conference sponsors and ongoing Plone supporters
New Foundation Board
We had eight candidates for seven seats. The new board is :
One-year term : Brian Davis, Kim Paulissen, Martin Peeters, Paul Roeland
Two-year term : Eric Bréhault, Guido Stevens, Mikel Larreategi
Thanks to Erico Andrei, William Fennie, Jens Klein and T.Kim Nguyen for dedicated service during the last year.
Adjourn
Franco Pellegrini (in Argentina) moved and Phillip Bauer seconded that the meeting be adjourned.
Unanimously approved.
Meeting adjourned at 15:32 UTC
