Volto Team

The Volto Team is responsible for Volto features, roadmap, UI/UX, and releases.

Mission

The Volto Team drives the evolution of Plone’s modern React-based frontend — Volto.
Our mission is to make Plone fast, accessible, and delightful for editors and developers around the world.
We collaborate to design, build, and maintain the user interface and frontend architecture that powers Plone today and in the future.

Responsibilities

Volto Team members take care of the technical direction and quality of Volto.
We work collaboratively to:

  • Discuss, review, and merge new features for the Volto code base via the Plone Improvement Proposal (PLIP) process.

  • Review and merge bug fixes and minor enhancements through pull requests (PRs) on GitHub.

  • Make important architectural and design decisions for the Volto frontend.

  • Keep the repository clean and healthy by managing open PRs and PLIPs.

  • Meet every two weeks to coordinate work and plan improvements.

Most collaboration happens asynchronously on GitHub and in our communication channels, with team meetings every two weeks to stay aligned.
