  • Flexible Layout
  • Single sign-on
  • Units can update their site while the web systems unit oversees Quality Assurance
  • Integrate with external data sources

The implementation of Plone has streamlined processes, making it easier for students, staff, and faculty to access information, apply for parking permits, and submit documents to different offices. The institutional assessment system allows for data collection, analysis, and reporting to improve student outcomes and academic performance. The Faculty CV and reappointment system allows for secure and easy storage and retrieval of faculty credentials and provides a smooth reappointment process for all parties involved. These systems have been critical to the success and efficiency of York College and continue to be an integral part of its operations.

For York, Plone is more than just a content management system, it is a framework to rapidly develop powerful web applications.

For York, plone is more than just a content management system, it is a framework to rapidly develop powerful web applications. With a staff of 4, the web team can create these customs applications and servers in addition to the daily operations and other duties. Being able to develop thru the web allowed an early adoption and agile development but as the projects became more complex and development shifted to add-ons and recently to Volto, the new React frontend of Plone 6.
