Plone 6.1 Demo Sites

You can now demo multiple varieties of Plone 6.1 by visiting their websites, no installation required. You can share the following URLs with your clients and customers to demonstrate the power and elegance of Plone. After you login to these sites, you can edit their content and experience Plone.

Demo sites

  • demo.plone.org uses the Volto 18 user interface of Plone 6.1 with the Volto Light Theme (VLT) and other add-ons, as well as examples of all supported content types.

  • volto.demo.plone.org uses the vanilla Volto 18 user interface of Plone 6.1. This is the out-of-the-box experience, and includes only minimal content.

  • classic.demo.plone.org uses the Classic UI user interface of Plone 6.1.

Volto is the default user interface for Plone 6. It is based on the React JavaScript framework. You need to run the Python-based backend server, as well as enable the REST API. A separate Node.js-based frontend server serves the JavaScript frontend resources.

Classic UI is the legacy user interface for Plone 6. It is based on Bootstrap 5. It uses a Python-based backend server to render content server-side and deliver HTML to the browser.

Note that all these demos reset their content periodically, and should not be used for permanent storage or customization.

See the Plone Roadmap for the future direction of Plone 6.1 and beyond.

Thanks to the Plone Admin and Infrastructure Team for their volunteer efforts to establish and maintain these sites for the Plone community.
