André Nogueira is the new World Plone Day champion

André Nogueira has been named the new champion for World Plone Day, an annual event promoting and exhibiting Plone around the world.

Nogueira is a designer, expert in CSS, HTML, usability and accessibility with a long history in the Plone community.  He is the founder of Simples Consultoria, a company that provides development, support and training in South America and Worldwide. And in addition to creating and organizing the recent Plone Symposium South America, he is the maintainer of the Brazilian portuguese translation of Plone.

World Plone Day is a chance for the global Plone community to showcase their software of choice to potential users at events around the world. The events will be held at universities, developers, software integrators, user groups, and government organizations - all key players in the community of developers and users who make Plone one of the most popular open source software initiatives on the planet.

The next World Plone Day is April 27, 2011.  This will be the fourth time the event has been held since it was created in 2008 by Roberto Allende, the previous WPD Champion.
