Paul Roeland

Long-time user of Plone in various forms, interested in community, documentation, accessibility. Currently on the Board

Who am I?

I have been a user of Plone (including Quaive and Castle) since 2004. I've been working at various non-profit organisations, currently at the Clean Clothes Campaign. In my spare time I run a film festival which also has a Plone website. I've been to every Plone Conference since Vienna 2004. Over the years, I've also been to quite a number of sprints, PLOGs, and have represented Plone in various other events.

I am based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

Why am I interested?

First of all, I have been on the Plone Board for a very long time, since Autumn 2011. While it has been a unique and very satisfying experience, I also really hope that new people will step up to the Board. Therefore, if there are enough candidates, I will gladly step aside.

On the other hand, continuity is also a good thing; there are many tasks and procedures that a Board should do in the right time, to ensure smooth sailing. Not all of these are completely documented, and also some things are hard to document but come down to experience in handling issues. I would be more than glad to pass on such knowledge, and be part of onboarding new Board members.
