Who Am I?

I'm CTO at kitconcept GmbH, a Plone solution provider from Bonn, Germany. I build all kinds of web sites using Plone and Volto. For 15 years at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya · BarcelonaTech, I helped deploy over 450 Plone sites, including the main institutional site, and intranets and public sites for faculty and departments.

I'm the Volto release manager and I'm a key contributor in the development of Volto and Plone RESTAPI. I'm co-author of Plone 5's multilingual add-on and its default Barceloneta theme. I organized the Barcelona Plone Conference in 2017 and several sprints in Barcelona. Once upon a time, I also authored a Plone book.

I've always been in love with the web. Although I've worked in both the back end and front end, my heart is definitely with the front end. I love staying up to date with state-of-the-art web technologies, content management solutions, electronic gadgets and the IT world in general.

Why Am I interested?

Being part of the Board has been one of the more awesome experiences I ever had in the Plone Community. After five awesome years, I have come to learn what it means to be part of the Board and its responsibilities. I'm ready to continue serving the community as Board member.

As a community, 2021 ends with the promise of a bright future ahead, in the brisk of the release of the first alpha of Plone 6. We fulfilled all the challenges that we faced the last five years, and we are ready for the next steps ahead to reach the release of the next major version of our beloved project. Next year developments should be at the same level and beyond. The Plone community has transcended being about only one software product. We have evolved into being more than that. Plone has become a concept, an idea, and the wisdom achieved over twenty years in building the best content management system in the world.

Plone just turned 20 and there are exciting times are ahead. It's time to explore new ways to empower and market the potential of Plone-the-concept – ways we have not yet imagined. I would like to help in this direction while serving next year in the Board.

What I Bring

I have front end and back end Plone core developer experience. I have been project manager, product owner, and decision maker, and I can blend these points of view. I'm good at seeing a problem from different perspectives, understanding all the moving parts while keeping an eye on the goal.

After 16 years being part of the community, I have a close connection with our people and our processes. I would like to continue using my community empathy in service of the Plone Foundation.

I fell in love with Plone at first sight in 2005. It is my desire to help it endure and prosper in the coming years.
