Alexander Loechel
Active Plone Board Member and community member, particularly in Germany. Department Head of Internet Services for Germany's largest university.
Who am I?
I've been involved with Plone since 2004, starting community activities in 2008. I am organizer and one of the co-hosts of the Munich Plone Users' Group. I was co-organizer of the German Plone Konferenz 2012 in Munich.
Starting with Plone as a student, I worked on Plone Projects for the German Armed Forces. I'm currently the Department Head of Internet Services for Germany's largest university, Ludwig-Maximillians Universität München.
I served as a Board Member for the Plone Foundation for the term 2013-2014 and as an Advisory Board Member for 2012-2013.
I've contributed to the docs.plone.org project, implemented the themes, plone.app.contenttypes and several add ons.
Why am I interested?
Plone has given me a great deal, and is one of the best open-source communities in the world. Working with all the other community members, and the board, has been a rewarding experience that I'd like to continue.
What I can add to the Plone Foundation
I want to bring my perspective as a manager and decision-maker to the board. I'd like to encourage a wider focus of the project that can make Plone an even better and better-recognized for large enterprises, government entities and universities. Encouraging sprints and marketing to the roadmap can help this happen.
