Plone Wins Packt Publishing's 2008 "Best Other Open-Source CMS" Award

Plone was named best non-PHP-based open-source CMS by Packt Publishing, winning a $2000 award for the Plone Foundation.

Packt Publishing named Plone its "Best Other Open Source CMS" in its 2008 Open Source CMS Awards, winning the Plone Foundation a $2000 prize.  Packt's announcement:

Competition amongst Content Management Systems that aren’t based on PHP/MySQL was a lot closer this year, with strong support for a wider range of CMS's noted during the voting stage. This made the judging more open with each CMS that made the final receiving praise from the judges. However following input from the four judges’ and also the result of the public vote, Plone came out on top.

"Plone is honored to be selected as "Best Other Open Source CMS" for 2008" said Alexander Limi, Plone's co-founder.  "We're very proud of all the work the Plone community has put into making Plone powerful, easy-to-use and well documented, and we deeply appreciate Packt's strong commitment to open source software."
