The Plone Foundation (PF) is proud to welcome four new members. The four were unanimously confirmed by the Foundation's Board of Directors after receiving strong recommendations from the PF Membership Committee.
Víctor Fernández de Alba of Barcelona is an IT Engineer at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, which has more than 450 Plone sites deployed to date. He is a co-author of Plones new content translation module, plone.app.multilingual, and the author of the book, Plone 3 Intranets. Víctor was main organizer of the recent Mosaic Sprint in Barcelona.
Max Jakob of Munich is a system administrator for the teaching and research unit for Theoretical computer science at Ludwig-Maximilians-University's Institute for Computer Science. Max was one of the original organizers of the Plone/Zope/Python User Group Munich and has hosted it since 2003. He organized the very successful German Plone Konf 2012 and is the principle maintainer of the German community websites, used for marketing and promoting Plone in the German-speaking world.
Alexander Loechel, also of Munich, is the head of the internet department of LMU. Alexander is currently serving on the Plone Foundation Board of Directors and in the past served as an advisory member. He is a co-host for the Munich Plone User Group and the German Higher Education Plone User Group. A co-organizer of the German Plone Konferenz 2012 in Munich, Alexander has promoted Plone at many conferences and events.
Tânia Andrea Moreira of Brasília, Brazil, has been a key figure in the widespread adoption of Plone by the Brazilian Government. In 2009 she co-founded the PloneGov-BR community. She has been a contributor and organizer for a wide variety of Brazilian Plone events and sprints, and was a key organizer for the recent Plone Conference 2013 / PythonBrasil. She has recently worked on translating plone.api documentation to Portuguese, helped with Pt-Br translation of the Plone application and has translated tutorials to help with government projects.
Membership in the Plone Foundation is conferred for significant and enduring contributions to the Plone project. The Foundation, which is the trustee for Plone's intellectual property and works to protect and promote Plone, has 127 active members.
