Amnesty International Switzerland

Amnesty International is a Nobel Prize-winning grassroots activist organization which undertakes research and action focused on preventing and ending grave abuses of human rights around the world. Since July 2006, Amnesty International Switzerland has used Plone for its multilingual (German, French, Italian, and English) website. It is based on the free add-on product BernArticle, and the sophisticated shop solution is a further development of PloneMall.

Chicago History Museum

The Chicago History Museum chose Contextual Corporation and its partner SPR Inc. to help it relaunch its website on the Plone CMS platform 2006. Through 2009, Contextual has provided continued support, including Plone upgrades, integration with other sites and tools, and performance optimizations. This site launch was timed to coincide with the Museum's 150th anniversary reopening, rebranding (formerly the Chicago Historical Society) and with a blitz of advertising on radio, print, and the web (not to mention ads on the side of Greyhound buses all over Chicago.)

AACASA Online Shop

Called "Afralia", this online shop belongs to, and raises funds for, AACASA (Australian African Childrens' Aid and Support Association). AACASA is a support group for Australian parents adopting children from Africa.

Abortion Care Network

Connecting the abortion care community, the Abortion Care Network (ACN) is the driving force behind the movement to de-stigmatize and normalize the abortion experience while offering support and training to the abortion care community. Founded from the merging of two abortion provider based organizations, the National Coalition of Abortion Providers and the Abortion Conversation Project, ACN has created a network of independent abortion providers, supportive allied organizations, and socially conscious individuals who are deeply invested in creating an environment where women who choose abortion, and those that provide care, are no longer harassed or shamed by the choices they make.

ACM SIGGRAPH

ACM SIGGRAPH generates and disseminates information on computer graphics and interactive techniques and is by far the largest Special Interest Group in the Association for Computing Machinery, the First Society in Computing.

Action Aid

The charity ActionAid approached us with a pre-existing Plone site, myActionAid, which they wanted to be refreshed, updated and enhanced. myActionAid is a social network for the charity's fundraisers where they can promote the activities they are undertaking on behalf of the charity and collect donations. New designs were applied to the existing site and a number of modifications implemented. New activity sections were added, such as "Right Now on myActionAid", showing people's donations in real time, and an announcement reporting facility. Also a personal messaging function, and facilities to show blogs, photos and so on, making the site user friendly, participant-driven and above all, effective.

ADAYA (Amigos de África y América), is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the development of communities in Africa and South America. It is based in Cantabria, Spain

Advancing Green Chemistry

The mission of the non-profit organization Advancing Green Chemistry is to reduce or eliminate hazardous substances from the manufacture and use of chemical products. To that end, they are building collaborative connections between green chemists - who design the products - and environmental health scientists - who understand how the chemicals interact with biological systems. This initiative includes a major conference, follow on meetings, information sharing, and policy development, all of which are aided by a members-only collaborative website. It includes news aggregated from a variety of sources, discussion forums, areas for members to post relevant papers and bibliographies, primers and analyses of important papers in both fields, collaboratively developed policy statements, and member commenting and discussion on all content. L'Association Française pour la Communauté Atlantique (French Association for the Atlantic Community), sponsored by NATO. A very simple Plone 2.5 deployment focused on news publication.

Agora Partnerships

An innovative organization that is fostering entrepreneurship in Central America turned to ifPeople to launch a bilingual web site that provides a great presentation of the organization. The site also includes integrated mapping of clients, featured success stories, and dynamic content.

Airports Council International-North America

Airports Council International-North America is the leading business association for U.S. and Canadian airports, with 243 operator members that enplane nearly all airline traffic in North America. Nearly 400 aviation-related businesses are also members of the association.
