Founded in 1927, Schlumberger is now one of the leading oilfield services providers in the world. Operating in around 80 countries, and employing over 80,000 people, Schlumberger recorded operating revenue in excess of $23 Billion (for FY07).
The Faculty for the Future portal has been designed to provide a community of female professionals from 25 countries (generally in emerging economies) a means to communicate effectively online via a simple yet powerful user-driven web portal, with many functions familiar to users of the various popular social networking sites. The site uses the Plone content management system to provide its core functionality whilst Netsight developed a number of custom extensions to create the full suite of features requested by the client.
