Altoforno can be seen as just a simple interface, a creation, filing and distribution system for your contents. But it can also be considered as something more, a highly collaborative system, that allows its members to meet and discuss, to work out contents about their favourite subjects. It has been inspired by the big company content management structures, known with the term of Intranet, that are widespread (and tremendously expensive), and by the collaborative Publishing systems used by the nespapers to manage the flow of news on the omnium-gatherum media (paper, Internet, palm-top, mobile phones, ecc.).
