- ARPAT - The Regional Agency for Environmental Protection of Tuscany, is active in the field of prevention and environmental protection. ARPAT has been operating since 1996; through a network of provincial departments, local services and sub-provinces in the region, it ensures the respect and fulfilment of regional guidelines in the prevention and environmental protection. The new project uses the faceted navigation system, in order to enable users to look for different contents by a multiple and easy research, and many other facilities accesibility, such as the contents correlation or the publibishing of different types of contents.
- Gionha (Italy)
- GIONHA Project (Governance and Integrated Marine Observation of Natural Habitat) promotes the protection and enhancement of marine resources and habitats of particular natural species that live in the Upper Tyrrhenian Sea. This particular coastal ecosystem, rich and varied, is characterized by the presence of cetaceans, which have a key role in the preservation of the food web and become a significant indicator of the health area. Partners of this project are: Regional Agency for Environmental Protection of Tuscany, Office de l'Environnement de la Corse, Liguria Region, the Autonomous Region of Sardinia, province of Livorno. Gionha website has been developed and realized in order to enlight the work carried out by the researcher and scholars active in the project. Its structure enables to list the objective and results achieved and to become a virtual place where common people as well as bioloigist, researcher and scholars can be up-dated of what happens in the area studied and can catch many different information. The system uses faceted navigation and a system to report the sighting of cetacean, both by researcher and common people (with two different form to fulfill).
