Since version 2.5, DIYPloneStyle installs itself by making use of a GenericSetup profile (which ships with Plone from version 2.5 on as a replacement for the Quick Installer and the Customization Policies).

Starting a new skin project is made easy by the use of a generator script that creates a skeleton theme product (Python product on the file system) ready to hold your style elements (stylesheets, images, templates).

The provided example theme can be installed as a standalone product, it is what you get after walking all the way through Alexander Limi's step by step tutorial called Putting a new look on Plone: a real-world example. It is an early version of the skin that is deployed on the plone.net web site.

Installation

 

 1. Unpack the tarball.

 2. Copy or link the 'PloneSlideShow' directory into the 'Products' directory of your 'INSTANCE_HOME / SOFTWARE_HOME'

 3. Restart Zope.

 4. Use the 'portal_quickinstaller' in Plone Site to install it. (Easier, jaster and clean!)

    or:

    * Use the link Preferences -> Add / Remove Products in Site Plone ;-)

 5. The 'CMFPublicator Tool' installation is required. (For more information, visit http://www.zope.org/Members/ferri/CMFPublicator/)

 

  6. Add the line <tal:block metal:use-macro="context/global_slide/macros/panel" /> desired ZPT.
