After you have installed subskins (and the site look terrible), go to the subskins control panel and set the following selections (the selections that ends with):

Colorscheme: b-orange.css, Base: 4W6.css, Top: medialog1.css, Text: base.css, Portlets: base.css, Navigation 123.css, Bottom: display_none.css

 

Press save.

Open the front page (preferable in another browser (Firefox))

 

Go to the control panel and change to:

Colorscheme: greys.css, Base: 456.css, Top: medialog1.css, Text: corporate.css, Portlets: base.css, Navigation 123.css, Bottom: display_none.css

 

Press: save, go to the other browser/window, clear the catche  and take a look.
