Lets you manage files and information related to a software project.

Project Description

This is basically a simple version of Plone Software center but with some extended features. For more advanced content you should use Plone software center. If you want something simple then software Project is the right thing to chose. This product was made to promote software released on Oberon IT homepage.

 

What it is:

It's a folderish archetype that lets you add files related to it in a hierarchy structure.

Since it's intentionally made to promote products, it has room for a box shot and several screen shots. A picture says more then a thousand words, so having the ability to add more then one screen shot is important.

 

Modification

The image thumbnails are now created to automatically use plone slimbox as zoomed view. To change this to a more plone like view, go to line 176 of softwareproject_view.pt ang change /image_preview to /image_view_fullscreen.

To have external links show up in the information portlet, go to line 132 and remove the comment from line 132 to line 152 (further documentation is found in the template file.

 

Features

• A software project can contain the following:
• Releases (folderish folder)
• Image (Screenshot)
• Page (documentation)
• Link (for linking to example sites and other relative information)
  
• Several different releases can be added to a software project - allowing different versions (beta, final etc...) to be available.
• A release can contain one or more files available for download so you can release the software in different file types (zip, rar, tar.gz etc...)
  
• Screen shots can contain title, description, comments and be related to other objects.
• Page, used for documentation, is default plone page.
• Link is also default plone.
• All links and documentation added show up in the software project overview.
• Supports summary listing (shows just like news listing with an image)
