Why are my categories not showing up in the portlet?

The portlet shows only X categories, although I created Y.
sdotNews installs a portlet that displays the Categories in which news were posted recently (slashdot like). You will not see any categories in which no news were posted or categories that have not been used for a long time. The Categories are sorted by the date of the most recent posted news.
If you want to see all your categories there is a link in the portlet saying 'all categories ...' that takes you to an overview of all your sdotNewsfolders (sorted by id).
