Like the Plone4Artists project, we too should not only provide a buildout, but also a recipe that acutally installs a quills instance. this way, would-be users of Quills really only need to run one command and can instantly start evaluating the application.
I think this would be a great way to reach people who are mainly interested in a blogging application, i.e. we eventually will want to become a direct contender to systems such as Wordpress or MoveableType etc.
This would be one step on the road to there.

Simply make an accurate, Ikea style, instruction page for installing your product.

A. Identify which version Windows users should download by using the word Windows in the description of the .tar (seriously, if the Windows version is beta, so be it, but don't be so timid as not to identify the version that Windows users must use to have a change of getting it to work)
B. Describe the process of file extraction to indicate where you have nested files (i.e. extract .tar, open folder and you will find another .tar, extract, Copy only x, y, z to pathname)((Once again, my first attempt was to place the entire extracted file into Products, imagine my frustration to find additional compressed files...)
C. Stop your plone instance (actually this is lazy it should be C. Launch Plone Controller, in the Status section hit the Stop Plone button, after Plone stops, in the Status section hit the new Start button.)
etc...
of course, if this seems so banal as to make it intolerable, try a screencasting software and youtube to illustrate your install. You'll get exposure from the YouTube listing and you might find that your installation process for Windows users isn't as effective as you might assume. My frustration with my inability to get things working with your product might be solved with a serious attempt to get specific with your instructions.

Turning Quills into an Egg is a great step forward, I think. Still true, the issue of user-friendliness remains.
