PloneWurfl

PloneWurfl stores mobile device information in a hierarchy. It is used to determine device capabilities when rendering WAP sites.

Project Description

The WURFL project (http://wurfl.sourceforge.net/) maintains an XML configuration file which contains information about capabilities and features of many mobile devices.

 

PloneWurfl stores this information in the ZODB. The devices and capabilities are managed through an ajaxified tree.

 

The WURFL project encourages developers to submit new device data, and PloneWurfl generates XML "patches" which can be contributed back to them. PloneWurfl also enables client Plone sites to synchronize their device tree with the tree on a master Plone site. The device tree can also be updated from the XML file maintained by the WURFL project.
