Project Description
Important
If upgrading from a version prior to 0.5, you must cleanly reinstall the product. If upgrading from 0.5, you must edit/save each location to force an update of the cached weather data.
About
This product makes available a portlet with current weather conditions given a NWS weather station ID and forecast for multiple days into the future given a ZIP code. There is support for multiple locations for the same Plone Site, each with its own portlet and forecast page.
It only works in the United States.
Installation
- Extract the tarball into your Zope instance's Products directory.
- Restart Zope
- From within Plone's Site Setup, install it from Add/Remove Products.
Configuration through Plone Control Panel under Add-on Product Configuration.
- Add a new weather location profile.
- Station names can be found here
- Interval is the number of seconds between refreshes. 3600 is recommended.
- Days for forecast should be self-explanatory.
The main configlet will give the proper code to use in left_slots or right_slots to display a portlet for the given location.
