Motivation

This is a minor-but-handy UI feature that will allow frequent forum users to avoid a lot of extra mouse clicks, and encourage forum readers to explore more deeply.

Proposal

Add a simple UI element to the conversation view (at top and bottom of the page?) that will skip to the previous/next conversation (by date)

...don't do the faux pas that 90% of boards are guilty of, where the "Next conversation" link is placed exactly where the "Next page of the current conversation" would be located.

These are two different concepts, and have to be visually separate.

...but I probably should have. Maybe another PLIP is brewing here. ;-)

It seems there are plenty of precendents in Plone and some products for organizing how these are displayed (and going to the next page of posts).

This comes up all the time as a missing feature.

If it could be handled by Plone 3.3 folder type preferences, that would be great.
