I am running plone 2.5/zope 2.9.4 and ploneboard 1.0-beta3 in production.. on my test machine i have migrated to plone 3.0.4 and ploneboard 2.0rc1, my 'message boards' and their enclosed 'forums' are successfully migrated, but the actual conversations are not.
i am not able to fully install (at the zmi) ploneboard 2.0rc1 until after i have run the portal_migration. is this normal ?
i am not able to fully install (at the zmi) ploneboard 2.0rc1 until after i have run the portal_migration. is this normal ?
- Steps to reproduce:
- install plone 3.0.4 using universal installer
install (at commandline) ploneboard2.0rc1 and simple attachment
start then stop zope.
copy across data.fs from old (plone 2.5/zope 2.9.4) installation, start new zope
run portal_migration
install (at zmi) simpleattachment and ploneboard products
view site in browser.. observe no conversations in the migrated discussion forums.

AFAIR in some circumstances conversations become invisible, but not lost. Visiting a known URL of a conversation may reveal the conversation.
Try the following. Backup (if you like) then in ZMI:
1. export the message board
2. delete the original
3. import the result of (1) to the location of the original.
That's a condensed version of the five-step workaround suggested under a different issue,
http://plone.org/products/ploneboard/issues/61

Hi
We experienced this same problem. Thanks Graham for posting the workaround.

Actually, it looks like a simple clear and rebuild of the catalog, (from ZMI->portal_catalog ), brings these conversations "back into existence".
