Plone needs a portal_cheese tool.

Motivation

Plone is disappointingly devoid of cheese. Even the most basic of CMSs will have at least a Gouda or a Jarlsberg. Some of our Enterprise-ready competitors will have several varieties of Brie and a few particularly smelly cheese variants one wouldn't necessarily want to contemplate, but that still should be there (much like the Norwegian translation - I mean, who needs that?).

Proposal

  • Create a portal_cheese tool and compile an impressive list of Cheese.
  • Enable a trigger - when the user searches the portal for "cheese", queryCatalog should invoke the portal_cheese tool's cheeseIt() method.
  • cheeseIt() will iterate over the types available in portal_types and change the title of each one to a randomly chosen, but site-wide unique, type of cheese.

The user will now be able to have cheese wherever s/he wants. Most likely, this will make our users much more happy, although in many cases their breath may begin to smell quite bad.

Risks

The tool might return Tiran's or Limi's toe-cheese variants. We must make sure it is filtered properly for smelly reasons.

Will it support Unicode cheeses?

My main worries are support for unicode cheeses and that Limi and Alan will be too keen to implement flavourless American cheeses, whilst forgetting some of the wonderful cheeses Britain has to offer, along with its fine array of carpets.

Real Cheese

Real Cheese: You know the type that comes in slices beteen plastic!

I joke not. Whilst in Italy, surrounded by fantastic smelly and tasty cheeses, we where asked where we could find "real cheese" by two American gentlemen.
