Improved Content Types

by Alexander Limi last modified October 24, 2005 - 23:58

Capable and extensible content types.

Since Plone provides a lot of useful functionality by default, many customers use the standard content types. Plone 2.1 has significantly improved these.

  • Content can refer to other content with an easy interface for authors.
  • Images now support scaling and thumbnail generation.
  • Events now support the iCal and vCal standards for desktop calendar integration.
  • Content supports multilingual sites out-of-the-box using LinguaPlone.
  • All content types are now Archetypes-based, giving them a rich set of additional services like transformations and validation.

In addition, the new content types can be extended by customers who need extra fields and features.
