i just tested current trunk on a fresh plone4.0b2 buildout and noticed, that the @@gallery-settings did not display anything w/o having plone.app.z3cform installed via quickinstaller.
if truegallery really depends on that, we should add it as a dependency in metadata.xml

You're right. This is a definite probably. I suppose most people use plone.app.z3cform with z3c.form in plone so no one noticed this yet.
