Motivation
For number-crunching the results of a survey in , say, SPSS, we need the results of a select question to come out as a numeric value. This needs to be totally flexible - a question should allow any different number of options - 5 , 7, 100 , whatever, and translate that into a numeric value in results.
This requirement has been discussed on the newsgroup but I didn't yet see a PLIP for it.
