Plone Place Map

This project's goal is to provide a Google map view of Plone objects which can be considered "placeable"

Project Description

Starting from the standard Event object's "Location" field, and knowing that the Google Maps API needs just an address/location information to create a map, we had the idea of extending the following Plone objects:

1. Event - adding a map in its view
2. Folder - adding a map to all the events contained in each folder
3. SmartFolder - adding a map to all the searched events

In the future, we are planning to add a configuration for this product, that will let an administrator define which other Plone objects can be considered "placeable" and which is the field that defines the address/location.

This product has been developed by University of Ferrara's student Marco Carrieri during his internship, from an idea by the RedTurtle team.
