MySite

MySite provides an introduction to product development for Plone for site managers that feel the need to turn into file-system based product development but have no clue where to start. It is assumed, however, that you know what the Zope Management Interface (ZMI) is and how to access it as well as how to install products for Zope/Plone in general. Some basic Python knowledge is definitively a plus but the tutorial should be helpful even without that.

Project Description

The tutorial consists of two main parts: (i) a Plone product called MySite that you should downlod and install locally on your development server - this product, and (ii) a book that explains the purpose of the product as well as all the individual files in detail.

Furthermore, the book contains exercises (currently 17) that help you testing and deepening your understanding. An appendix provides solutions to most exercises and a further appendix summarizes major resources and tools for developers. There is an online version of the book that you can comment on as well as a printable (pdf) version.
