Code repositoryThe package aims to offer various geolocation / gis -related features for other components. Currently, it provides the following:
- A Location content type that stores address & location (longitude & latitude) information
- A common API to various GeoIP data libraries (in progress)
- A GeoLocator tool that provides for example distance calculation algorithm
The first goal of the project is to stabilize & complete the existing features, especially those that are required by the EventRegistration component. In the near future, features such as Google Maps integration are planned.
There is a google group (geolocation) for discussions and an irc channel (#geolocation@irc.freenode.net) as well. Sometime fairly soon there will also be an issue tracker.
