FinnsGuestBook 0.8 (Beta release) (Jun 30, 2008)

This is not a final release. Experimental releases should only be used for testing and development. Do not use these on production sites, and make sure you have proper backups before installing.

Just basic functionality here - no bells and whistles.

With this release I just meant to copy the fuctionality of InkStain, but in a Plone 3 way. There are plenty of possible enhancements I want to add before we go all the way up to an 1.0 version. Suggestions are welcome. For now, please just use the svn repository to fetch the product.

The alpha version has run for a while on a couple of websites where I ironed out a few severe bugs related to the captcha system and the way it displays and records dates. This beta version should be pretty steady.

• Fixed bug with security manager so non-logged in people can enter messages
• Failsafe entry id so it finds another id if it already exists
• Base the guestbook entry date on creation date instead of modification date
• Get the search results from getPhysicalPath instead of absolute_url_path so it works on a virtualhost setup
• Added Brazilian-Portuguese translation (thanks Davi Lima)
