The notation of the estimates in the release plan is ambiguous:
- Unplanned stories (with or without tasks) display the rough estimate of the story. However an hours:minutes notation is shown.
- As soon as a story is planned in an iteration, the estimate of the tasks is shown (same hours:minutes) notation.

For the end user it is absolutely unclear what is shown:
- Is the estimate of the story OR the estimate of the tasks shown?
- Is the estimate in hours OR in days?

See a screenshot for a summary.

[I changed the title of this issue from unambiguous to ambiguous... :-)]

The numbers here are always shown as hours:minutes. A rough estimate of half a day is shown as 4:00.

Since the release plan is a high level overview, I would be inclined to show the rough estimate in days and never the hours.

Well... I *want* an unambiguous notation... :)

I agree that an estimate in days is probably best. The matter remains that a story with an estimate of a day is shown as a day when unplanned but when you move it to an iteration the estimate suddenly changes to the estimate of the tasks (after reloading the page). Worst case there are no tasks and the estimate is shown as zero. This doesn't feel right. Moving stories around should not result in changing estimates.
