Release roadmap for Extreme Management tool…
Project Description
- Project resources
This application provides project administration which supports the eXtreme Programming methodology. By developing a number of new content types we can use iterations, stories and tasks to manage our XP projects. You invite your customers to write stories and submit them. Employees can than estimate those stories by defining tasks.
The customer can manage priority over the stories by assigning the stories to iterations. The employees can start working on tasks and set the tasks to 'In progress'. After working on a task the employee adds a booking to the task of the actual worked time. On the project view the customer gets a realtime overview of the progress of the project.
Dependencies
For dependencies, see the release notes for each release.
Extras
If you have a project management website you should consider installing the optional xm.themepackage (for Products.eXtremeManagement 1.6 and higher). This gets rid of part of the default Plone UI so it fits a project management site more. Try this out locally before you use it in production.
For the upcoming eXtremeManagement 2.0 there is a brand new xm.tracker product which provides a ligh tweight (g)timelog like interface for registering your daily bookings. You can select tasks in the eXtremeManagement site to work on when you start working in the moring, book small amounts of time during the day and reconcile/book all entries when you're finished.
Conflicting Products
- eXtremeManagement is known not to work with ZEPP/PlonePM, another project management product. It uses a Task content type, just like eXtremeManagement does. This causes problems. If you want to try out both, do that in separate Zope instances.
- Same is true for PloneBooking.
Have fun and be productive!
