When results from Rich Topics/Smart Folders aren¹t returning anything you still see Title and Description. These items should be able to programmatically disappear.
It would be a lot simpler if the collage could detect that you've added a folderish item and just not display anything if that folderish item doesn't have contents. I'd rather we didn't have to modify topic.pt or other such templates, if only because those of us who aren't python programmers will have a hard time with this. If it could be optional to display or not display empty folderish items, that would be great, but that might be asking a lot.

The default (standard) topic template now queries the catalog first and only if results are returned does it display the title and description field.

Works for collections. Folders themselves still show up, even if they don't have content, but I don't think it's a big deal right now.
