Plone 2.5.2 released (Updated)

by Alexander Limi last modified Jan 27, 2007 09:11 AM

A bug fix release in the 2.5.x series.

The Plone Team today released Plone 2.5.2, which is a bug fix release in the 2.5.x series, and we encourage everybody to update. This new version has bug fixes in the following areas:

  • LiveSearch
  • Unicode handling
  • External Editor
  • IE7 rendering

The full changelog for Plone 2.5.2 is available.

We have discovered that there may be some issues if you are running LinguaPlone when updating to 2.5.2 (especially when using non-latin scripts like Japanese), so users should be careful and report back any Unicode issues they find — if any — when combining Plone with this product. The fixes for this were too late to make the 2.5.2 release, but should be included in the next release in the 2.5 series.

Windows and Mac OS X installers (as well as the Universal installer) are being worked on, and should appear during the next few days.

Update: Windows installers have been added.

Update 2: Mac OS X Intel installer has been added.

Update for LinguaPlone

According to the maintainers, the current SVN version (of LinguaPlone) should have a workaround for the Unicode problem. Feedback appreciated, whether you got it working or not — so we can put out a new release of LinguaPlone too, if it resolves the issues.

Yes and no: the SVN version of the 2.5-zope2.9 bundle fixed the multilingual problems.

I have succesfully set up a test site with french/german/dutch/english languages. With The 2.5.2 installer & LinguaPlone SVN package I got a unicode error as soon as I tried to add a french translation of a normal Page. Updating the Products dir with the Plone SVN bundle made the error disappear. So I had to get both a Plone 2.5.X SVN and Linguaplone SVN checkout.

Which LinguaPlone version did you use? 0.9.0?

There is not much else than tag 0.9 and trunk in svn, I used Trunk.
