WebLion will feature two streamed presentations from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m., Eastern Standard Time (EST) on World Plone Day, Wednesday, April 28. These presentations can be viewed at www.ustream.tv/channel/plone-users-weekly. Viewers are invited to share comments and questions during the presentations on the WebLion IRC channel .
PloneEdu
Michael Halm, Director and Senior Strategist in WebLion, will provide a preview of the upcoming Plone in Education (PloneEdu) website, to be launched at Plone Symposium East 2010. PloneEdu will be a hub of information on major initiatives supporting teaching and learning, research, administration, K-12 adoption, building communities, and marketing within education.
Halm will be part of a panel discussing PloneEdu initiatives and collaborative projects at the Symposium. Interested attendees are invited to participate in a PloneEdu content sprint.
Plone 4
Eric Steele, Programmer-Analyst in WebLion, will showcase features of Plone 4, which is due to be released in early summer of 2010. Central to Plone 4 are newer versions of Zope and Python, which will bring a substantial increase in performance and better support for large volumes of data.
Steele will discuss Plone 4 features and will preview changes planned for future Plone releases in a keynote talk at Plone Symposium East 2010.
