Program
Auckland Business School 1:00-1:30 PM - Case Room 3 (level 0)
1. CMS, Plone and other basics in simple terms for everyone.
Chris Chambers
The term "Content Management System" is about as easy to engage with as the term "Word Processor". So this is a good place to start. Anyone faced with writing a report will choose to use a word processor. It is a similar situation with wanting to write a website in that you should choose to use a content management system. By illustrating this point through examples this talk will explain the functionality you would typically expect from a CMS and more importantly point to the features of Plone that will make your life easier if you want a website that is more than a few pages.
2. Why NZ Government and others choose Plone
Darryl Dixon
An exploration of some of the motivating factors in choosing Plone over other CMS systems. What does Plone have that makes it special? How nicely will Plone play with all the other web and backend systems that we have in place already? Is Plone a 'toy' or is it capable enough to handle the real work and customers that our website needs to support? And finally, what does it take to get started with Plone today.
3. Plone 3 and becoming a power user
