Castle Sprint 2004

by Robert Boulanger last modified September 12, 2004 - 20:53

BlueDynamics is proud to announce the Castle Sprint 2004.

Following the successful 2003 Castle Sprint, BlueDynamics will hold a sprint at the castle this year.

This year, however, the sprint will be smaller and will be a closed invitation list. While we regret this, we're unable to have an open or large sprint following immediately after the Plone Conference; organizing two such huge events would be too much.

The topic for the sprint is: The future of Content Management with Zope 3.

The goal will be to discuss and define the future way of managing content with Zope3, not only for Plone, but for other Zope-based content management systems. As the motto of the conference is "Content Management without Borders", we've invited project members from Zope Corporation, Infrae (developers of Silva), Plone, Archetypes, Struktur (developers of ICOYA), and Nuxeo (developers of CPS).

Unfortunately, this sprint is for these invited participiants only. We are unable to consider additional sprinters, but you can join the mountain sprint going on at the same time at telesis in Vorarlberg.

How to come

I M P O R T A N T

In Austria there are TWO Castles called Goldegg. Don't target the one located by Zell am See near Salzburg. We are much farer in the east near St. Poelten !!

  • Plane (That's not a misspelled Plone. A Plane is a thing which your'e entering and which flies from A to B :) )

Take a plane to Vienna then CAT (City Airport Train) to Vienna Center. From there I suggest to take a ca to West Train Station (West Bahnhof)and go to St.Poelten. Alternativly you can take a bus from the Airport

If you reached Westbahnhof check a ticket (This is also possible already in the Train) to St. Pölten. You can take any train which goes in direction Salzburg, Innsbruck, Passau or Munich. the Train trip to St. Pölten takes approx. 40 mins. From the St. Poelten Train Station either somebody will fetch you up with the car and brings you to the castle, or you take a cab to go to Schloss Goldegg. If the Taxi driver doesn't know where this is tell him to the Golf Club. (The Golf Club is integrated in one part of the castle and everybody should know the way). From the train station St. Pölten to the castle it's about 8 to 9 km, the train station is not in the center of the city, the taxi driver only has to leave the town in North direction, the way goes over the fields, no traffic-jam 's there, so it should be pretty cheap.

Alternativly you can rent a car there, leave the Airport area in direction Vienna (Wien) and follow the signs in direction St. Pölten. if you are entering the A1 Highway, continue at the chapter Coming by car from East, below.

  • Car

    Coming from West:

Take Highway A1 exit already at Loosdorf which is about 15 km before St. Pölten. Continue there on B1 in direction St. Pölten and turn left in mid of the town Prinzersdorf. Always follow this street then and turn left at the crossing in Watzelsdorf. Then just follow the street until you see the castle up on the hill and drive directly in the courtyard of the castle.

    Coming from East:

Take the Highway A1 in direction Linz / Salzburg and leave it at *Knoten St. Pölten Ost. You will find yourself on another Highway, called S33*, which you leave at the firt possibility. Turn right on the road and leave it again at the first possiblity after a few hundred meters (Exit Wagram). You are entering the city St. Pölten via the district Wagram, always keep this direction for a few kilometers through the city, after crossing a bridge you come to a circle crossing, where you turn right. Follow this street until you will cross again a bridge (this time the bridge goes over you) and turn left at the next light. Then go on for about 9 kilometers always in this direction, even if you leave the city. You can orientate yourself, by following the signs in direction golf.
